Fenced off areas, including pillboxes

As part of the planning process, PfP has recently had a structural survey undertaken that has shown that the pill boxes fenced off are unsafe. To avoid anyone getting injured or potentially risking death from a collapse, these have been temporarily fenced off until it is determined whether they should be sensitively repaired or whether the historic value is better retained by not touching them and instead ensuring they cannot be accessed.

The long term plan for the pill boxes is for them to be part of a heritage trail around the Gilston estate as part of the new development.
